LED Light problem

I just put this new Power supply in my XION II case, and it doesn't have a connection to plug in the LED light that lights the groovy XION on the front of the case. Can I just cut the connector off and splice the wire to some other wire, or would that possibly burn it out? It's a simple LED, I think, so I figure it needs some low voltage, but I'm new at building and modding, so I don't know what I'm doing.

Thanks for any advice you may have for me!

    :)

That should work.... Or there might be a connector adaptor?

So if I can't find an adapter, splicing the LED light to "like-colored" wires (red to red, black to black) won't be a voltage problem? Does it matter which wires from the power supply I splice the LED to?
    Thanks,
    Eric

I should think not... As the PSU shouldnt give more power than the LED needs/can withstand.

Okay, I may give it a whirl later this evening, and I'll let ya know if it worked.

    Thanks again, everyone.

Hmmmm, you might want to check that. Most LEDs require a resistor to be attached to their circuit to make sure the voltage going to the LED isn't too high. If you're running off the 5V line (thats Red live and black ground), you should be alright, but I'd check it out.

Be wary about static. I have it on good authority that cheap "ultrabrite" blues and greens often used in manufacturing are particularly sensitive to static and heat.

The worst you could do is wire it up the wrong way, and there is an easy fix for that: swap the wires over :p

Okay, it worked like a charm. I just snipped 2 wires from another plug, and spliced them, and everything looks sooooooo cool!
Hey there, Goldy, how are ya? Read your post after I'd already done the damage, but no damage done, fortunately! :)
    Thanks a million, everyone!
