I have inherited a PC with a bootleg version of XP on it, but have got an official XP SP2 install CD.

Is there an easy way to legitimise the bootleg version or do I have to do a complete reinstall of XP?

    thx

I would just install the legitimate version. You can never be sure of pirated software and it's just a bad idea to use it. Besides, you already have the real thing. Why not use it?
