Let Me Down Again

For the second time in 12 months ESET NOD 32 let me down with E-Mail.

yesterday i got an e-mail from a reputable company(or so i thought) to saythat i had a program ACE TRANLATOR illeagally installed on my computor now i do know this company and all seemed OK it came in on the normal e-mail (not junk) so knowing i did not have this installed i sent a reply to say i thought they had made a mistake no sooner did i press send than the CPU hit 100 suspecting a problem i pulled the plug and did a panic shutdown i disconnected all my ancillary bits and hit start all loaded well but the CPU stayed at 100 so i tried to log on to my ISP and promptly got told i was already logged on so i knew i'd been hacked,again out with the plug as the PC would not let me shut down i am really p****d off as this is not a freebie and you expect some sort of warning before it all goes to s**t.

i have had to re-format to get control of my PC so after my rant all i can say is stick it where the sun never shines i have gone back to AVG 7.5 downloaded from here and i at least know i can trust MGs.

as we always say we are the best anti virus ourselves and i never learn don't open anything you are not 100%

If you run into this problem in the future, ClamWin has a virus scanner that will run in DOS. It can clean infections without loading the OS.

 

Well, I know a whole bunch of people who swear by NOD32 and they also get a top mark from people who rate AV's. I believe it could be spyware that loaded than a virus. Either way, don't get click happy Bill.
