    Dear All,

I just purchase a laptop because my last laptop that I only used 12 times over 1 year (yes, because I have an oldie that still with loads of programming) whent dead when I was doing several backups of my 160Gb Hardisk from the old one.

My last one was HP pavillion DV6, and I found that they had/ have loads of probs.

Now I have a ACER, I could not find yet things wrong, but I would like to test it as I have 15 left to return if something wrong.

So, question is what kind of tests can I do to take this laptop to the limits 24hrs?

I am at the moment with 3 Video players reading 10 movies different from each other but in a loop 24hrs.

There is only 29% Usage of CPU.

    Any ideas?

I like OCCT as it tests all aspects of your computer to the max., meaning CPU/Video/RAM at or near %100 and at the same time graphs some 15 different voltages and temperatures and saves them as the test moves along and if the machine fails for some reason, there will be a history to review. You can run itthe default 1hr. or go for a total burn-in for 24 hrs. You might need to install Directx 9c.

    Welcome aboard.

Thanks Augiedoggie, I have tested with COCCT, and,

1st many thanks in advance for your help.

I have an ACER Pentium Dual Core T4500 @ 2.3G, I used your

latest program, the program only goes as high as 54% in both cores

I think. The hyperthreading is disconnected, and I am not able to

connect because the program itself makes it unavailable.

I am running your program for the last week in batches of 1hr, 3, 8,

and now I will live it for 24hrs and more.

I need this laptop to heat up, because I have 5 days left of a

waranty of 28 return to shop with noquestions asked and money

    back.

SO, I have for you 4 images from your prgram, the images

    "2010-10-24-07h52-CPU1.png" and

"2010-10-24-07h52-CPU2.png" where done with the Laptop

testing CPU for 9 hours normally.

    The images of "2010-10-24-11h27-CPU1.png" and

    "2010-10-24-11h27-CPU2.png" are with a small 28Mb portable

    game running on the bckground.

As you can see the heat whent up slightly. But, I wouldlike more,

much much more, so all the impurities of the processor will come

    out.

I did once 8 years ago with another laptop, and still working, in

fact this is where I am writing to you. This laptop was heating for

24hrs at least 2 weeks after purchasing, all was tested, DVD drive,

    RAM, CPU, GPU, and harddisk.

Now I am thinking in leaving this new laptop with about 5 games

and 24 hrs with your test, but you may have a different idea in

    order to make it perfect.

I just want the thing to heat up.

What is your opinion about it? and how should I come about doing

    it?

    Another issue:

I am hearing a small fan, if it is a fan, noise at night and every

minute it will start and stop. But, to me it sounds like when the

hardisk is on/off every minute. It also could be the internal

graphics fan, I am not sure, any ideas?

    Many thanks, Gen
