ok, here's the deal, got system working fully. How can I tell what mode my hard drives are running at? Between ata 133/100? Also, what is raid? Why does this motherboard keep saying all kinds of stuff about raid controllers, etc. Thanks.

Raid is a system where two or more drives work together, depending on how you configure it the goal could be improved performance or have your data on more than one drive in case a drive goes bad. If your mobo supports raid and you are not using it you sometimes get messages during startup, if you want to stop the messages you should be able to disable raid in BIOS.

Here is a usefull link about RAID.

While you are setting everything up it is normal to be prompted with the raid stuff. If you are not going to be using the raid configeration just ignore it, and once you have windows installed they should go away.

If you want to check out your system, Download Aida32. This is a very powerfull tool. You can see just about everything in your system. :)

Glad everything is going well. :D

ok, here's the deal: according to aida 32, overcooked:

    FSB:
    Real clock 200MHZ-what is this?
    Effective Clock 800MHZ
    Bandwidth 6400MB/s

    Memory Bus:
    Bus Type: DDR SDRAM
    Bus Width: 64-bit
    Real Clock 167MHZ
Effective Clock: 333MHZ-I thought this was supposed to be 400??
    Bandwidth: 2667 MB/s

    Chipset Bus Properties:
    Bus Type: Via V-Link
    Bus Width: 8-bit
    Real Clock: 67 MHZ
    Effective Clock: 267 MHZ
    Bandwidth: 267 MB/s

    Cpu Properties:
Cpu Type: Intel Pentium 4E 3000MHZ
    Cpu Alias: Prescott
    Cpu Stepping D0
    Original Clock: 3000MHz
    L1 Trace Cache: 12k Instructions
    L1 Data Cache: 16KB
    L2 Cache: 1MB (On-Die, ATC, Fulle-speed)

Does all this look where it should be guys?

The real clock is like the FSB Frequecny. In your case 4 X 200 = 800mhz

What memory did you install? PC3200 would give you 400mhz, and PC2700 will give you the 333mhz.
