    I need some help.

I have a Lexar 16g Jumpdrive s70 that i just got a month ago. I was working on school stuff and turned off my netbook. When i checked my work on my pc, nothing was showing up. Not even the prompt that it's installing the hardware, or even when i open My computer and clicked any of the removable disk drives, its not showing up.
I really don't know what to do at this point, and i just want to get my school files in there. :c

    Please Help!

The drive may have lost it's drive letter. Right click My Computer or Computer and select Manage>Disk Management.

Do you see the removable disk? You may have to scroll down to find it. If you do and no drive letter is assigned to it, click the drive, right click and select assign drive letter.

Also, try connecting this flash drive to another computer if one is available.

I did connect it to 3 diff computers..It doesnt read on any of them. The light on the usb blinks for a few seconds then it disappears. Or sometimes it doesn't blink at all..
I'm a little lost with what u mean by drive letter..I'm sorry..i really am helpless..
I got as far as Device Manager, but when i scrolled down , all i saw were gibberish.
Here i'll list it down in order..
    -storage volumes
    generic volume
    generic volume
    generic volume

    +System devices
    -Universal Serial Bus controller

    ---------------------------------------
i did try and clicked them but nothing really happened...it showed properties but from there it just gave me the option of updating the driver, uninstalling it, or rolling it back..

    sorry for all this.. :C

This does not look good. You tried other computers and Windows does not see the flash drive. This could very well be a dead flash drive. There is a possibility that a linux distro will see it.

You can try downloading Puppy. version 5.2.8 Burn the iso file with Imgburn. Then boot the CD. Connect the flash drive. Wait a bit and if the flash drive is recognized by Puppy an icon will appear in the lower left of the screen. Click on it once. A green ball should appear on the icon and a window will open. If your files are there, copy but do not move your files to the hard drive of the computer. The hard drive will be labeled on the desktop as something like sda1. Click that hard drive icon. A green ball will also appear on the icon and a window will open. You can then transfer the files from the USB flash drive to the computer's hard drive.

Here is an example of the icons of the hard drive and USB flash drive.

Here is a tutorial on Puppy. It uses a different burning program and shows how to recover files from a hard drive to a flash drive. You will be copying the files from the flash drive to the hard drive of the computer.

When you connect the flash drive to your computer and if the USB icon does not show on the Puppy Desktop, then your flash drive is in all probability dead. Good Luck.
