Lexmark 3100 prob

I have a Lexmark 3100 series 3 in 1 printer I just bought a new cartridge today (color 19) and installed it, my photo cartridge is real low (photo 90) but I don’t care about that because I only want to print a graph.
Now every time I go to print it tells me that cartridge is low, so I took the photo cartridge right out thinking it would default to the color cartridge WRONG. I get a pop up notifying me I have a problem "missing cartridge" I went through all their options, solutions, their website and even called their 24 hour help # just to get a recorded message saying 9am to 9pm only! Nothing, I cant find an answer anywhere.
I searched google and only found sites wanting me to buy more cartridges!! I am lost, is it possible that my printer will only print if it has 2 full cartridges? Cuz that would be the ultimate rip off!!

 

Scam!! Those bastards, I just got off the phone with Lexmark and it was as I feared, in order to print a color page (even if it isn’t a photo) you MUST have both a color and photo cartridge.
So if you’re like me and unaware of this information before you go out and buy what you think is the right cartridge for the right job, you will find that you must buy both cartridges to finish the job.
Which means that once you’ve already invested the money on one cartridge you have a choice, go buy another one to complete the job, or consider the first cartridge a loss, throw the whole printer out, and invest your money in Epson like you should have the first time?
I myself am going to opt for the second choice.
