lexmark 5150

can someone please! help me? my printer keeps saying black ink cartridge is missing, both were replaced 2 months ago tried taking out and in to no avail

Second, You can try this: disconnect the printer from the PC and restart the computer. Go into Add/Remove Programs and completely uninstall the Lexmark software. Be sure you have the Lexmark CD (or go to the Lexmark web site and download the software) before you remove the software. After uninstalling, again restart the PC. Now reload the Lexmark software as per their instructions. If this doesn't fix the problem, there's a real good chance that unit has some type of physical or mechanical damage/malfunction. Unfortunately, Lexmark units suffer from "you-get-what-you-pay-for" syndrome. Meaning, if it was cheap, it IS cheap... you know what I mean? Lexmark is fairly famous for low prices, and low quality. If the unit is still under warranty, try to get a replacement. Lexmark is also famous for their units failing less than 30 days after the warranty period has expired I wish I had better news :cry
