I am having issues with my Lexmark X7550 printer. It kept saying its having problems communicating. So I would troubleshoot... Nothing worked so I would uninstall and reinstall it. Which would work fine. Now it stopped communicating and I uninstalled it and when I reinstall it the software installs but then it says "Failed to create print object Lexmark X7550 Series (Network). Printer driver unrecognized (1797)"

Also Just to add I am pretty sure its not the printer because I can print from my daughters computer to this printer.

You are missing several essentials items that would help anyone reading this thread.
    1. What version of windows, as well as service packs, is running on the problem computer?
    2. What version of windows, as well as service packs, is running on your daughter's computer?
    3. What firewalls and security programs on on each of the computers?
    4. How is the printer attached?
    a) Is it attached to the problem computer by parallel or USB port
    b) It is attached to your daugher's computer by parallel or USB port
    c) It is attached to a router
    d) It is not attached to anything; it is communicating wirelessly.

Finally, what sort of home network, if any are you using? (hardware like modem and router).

Are you trying it wireless, or, usb cable?
The page link shows that it works o.k with XP, AND VISTA(usually when it works with Vista, It works with Windows 7)
If using wireless it may need setting up differently on your computer to work properly.
I often find printers give faults like that if the driver is incorectly installed.
Try uninstalling, switch printer off, and restart your computer- then insert the driver disc, and wait until you are presented with the screen -something like'searching for printer', and at that point, switch on the printer, and ignore any windows own 'found new device windows, just let the printers own driver install- the windows one will dissappear if you keep ignoring it.

    1. What version of windows, as well as service packs, is running on the problem computer? Windows 7
    2. What version of windows, as well as service packs, is running on your daughter's computer? Windows 7
    3. What firewalls and security programs on on each of the computers? On my daughters it is Avast, on mine it was avast but I just went thru the whole malware removal thread so I have all that stuff on my computer now.
    4. How is the printer attached? It has always been wireless. I have it connected via usb right now and its working on mine. But I need it wireless to be able to print on mine and my daughters.
    a) Is it attached to the problem computer by parallel or USB port: Right now USB
    b) It is attached to your daugher's computer by parallel or USB port: Its wireless

    d) It is not attached to anything; it is communicating wirelessly.

I have had this printer installed on my computer before. Then after a week or two it would say that it could not communicate. So I would go through all the trouble shooting and nothing would work. So I would uninstall it using the Lexmark uninstall program. Then I would reinstall it with no trouble it would work for a couple more weeks then say communication error again.
