Liberty BASIC?

Anyone using? Is it any good? Easy to learn? Should I get QBASIC instead? I can't seem to find a lot of help on Liberty BASIC. I googled and most of the pages take you to the same places. I read Programming for dummies which has Liberty BASIC in it. It looked rather easy but finding programs that was written in Liberty BASIC to study the source code is hard to come by.

 

QBASIC is fairly easy. I'd suggest that because it's easier to come by example QBASIC code than Liberty BASIC code.

Is QBASIC a dos type programming tool? Can I make programs to give to friend with QBASIC? Does QBASIC work good with XP SP2?

 

I haven't had problems with qbasic in sp2, and yes with i think the latest qbasic which is 7.2 or something, you can compile it to make it an executable. Which means you can use it on any system. It works through dos, so you have to run it through dos.

 

OK. I found QBASIC 7.1. Is that the QBASIC that you're talking about?

 

Yes. QBASIC 7.1 is the version I have and it runs well.

 

What the pros and cons of QBASIC?

 

Pros:

Very very very very easy to learn and master
Can make some cool things in it

Cons:

Isn't used a lot
cant' make a variety of things

So basically its just good for learning.
