robertbiferi I can't follow the rules

I have win 7. and I am reading and trying to understand how Librarys work.

Now I do know one thing you can Link say a Secondary Hard Drive that has all your Photos to the Pictures Library.

So that when you go into the Pictures Library you will see all your Photos.

But it will just be showing you the Photos that are on your Secondary Hard Drive and not moving them.

Ok I get this but one thing?

When I open Windows Explorer the Library Tab is there on the Left side.

But if I go to the start Bottun I see Documents.
And if I open this nothing is in it.

So is this a Library or am I all mixed up???

Ok I did some reading about Libraries and how they work in win 7.

If I understand it right you can open Explorer window and go to Libarary and then say go into Music Folder.

And you can ad all your music to this folder.

But it will be just storing Links to the real song files it will not b moving your music to this folder.

    Do I have this right?

    Yes.
You can also turn Libraries off so you do not see the links to everything.
Then when you want music, you look in Music. When you want documents you look in Documents.

So then say I download an MP3 I use to have it go into My Documents Folder on my Desktop.

But win 7. did away with that and if Libaries just are for Links to the realy files then what do you do??

I don't see why Libraries is an issue here. You still have Documents, Pictures, and Music on the right side of the Start menu. Just click on the applicable one to go to your files.

    2.
If I turn off Libraries then what does this do I did not get what you were telling me about Music is just music and pictures are just pictures?

If you turn off libraries it acts exactly the same as XP.
Libraries just show shortcuts to files in other locations. If you don't want to have all the shortcuts in one spot - libraries, turn it off.

Right click Music and select Properties. What do you see?

I do understand now that Libraies just show shortcuts to the real Files.

Now if I go to my Start bottun and on the right side I Right click Music.

The wiondow comes up telleing me
    my music c:/users/robert

    This is me my account.

So I gess this is my music Folder just for my account.

    Then under it says
    public music C:/users/public

My gess is if I put anything in this Folder it will be seen in all user account in everyones Publick folder?
