Lightning Bugs Are Out!!!!!

Yup. I noticed some last week here, sitting out on the deck. Ahhhh.........summertime.

I like squashing them and making a glowing trail of their insides on the front porch! *Just Kidding for all of those firefly rights activists out there*

 

Haven't seen any over here yet! When I was a kid I used to catch them and stick them in a jar (of course the lid had holes in it so they could breathe). I would put the jar next to my bed and use them for a nitelite. By morning they were all dead though!

 

Haven't seen any as yet, but our kids got together and brought round our wedding present of an awesome gas BBQ, so I guess summer is officially here now! Guess what we're all doing Memorial Day
