Limewire Problems

loaded limewire but unable to connect to internet
limewire shows wall blocking this program
i have set and reset firewalls but still unable to connect limewire to the internet
any thoughts?
is there another sharing program out there instead of limewire?

Frostwire seems to be a good program. Have you tried to disable your firewall while you are using Limewire?

 

Ouch, I wouldn't try that or you might be taking a quick trip to the Malware Thread, and no file is worth that.

 

your dealing with a very touch an go subject when you ask for advice on p2p software,

although these programmes have improved since the days when i used kazaa etc but generically there the same principle

i can almost guarantee you that after a few weeks you WILL notice your computer getting slower

as regards the firewall problem i operate off two networks on my home one it allows access through all ports of the firewall,
however i know if you use a wi-fi network or a large collage campus network and even some broadband providers are now configuring there modems to blok access to the ports which are used by the likes of p2p programmes or file sharing torrent programmes .........depite the fact that on these same networks you can still have great upload / download speeds and view any website
