LimeWire question

I was going to download the music program lime-wire and was wondering if anyone knew if it was a dangerous program to use on your computer. well i was just wanting some opinions about it. tell me if you think it is safe to use. if u dont know what it is and u are interested. www.limewire.com.

It's been working very well for me so far. No problems. There is no spyware, but it does have an anoying menu that pops up EVERY time you open it up asking whether you want to get the pro version or not and you always have to click "later"

 

I've had Limewire, downloaded loads of stuff, & never had any problems, so I'd say it's safe!

I was wandering how safe Limewire is when it comes to the RIAA.. Ie. is it safe if you don't share files. Imput may help me use Limewire. Thanks!

 

I've tried a bunch of 'em and Limewire works best. My best friend just upgraded to 4.8.2 Pro, pretty cheap, and double the search and download speeds of the free version. I used the free version to find a copy of ver. 4.8.1 Pro. Sure enough, no nag screen and very fast downloads. Heck, I may even go ahead and pay for it. It's that kewl.

Don't forget to search for .zip files, and (carefully) .exe files that are often self-extracting archives. I've gotten some great stuff. PDFs and games are also available. Don't forget to share.

 

No, you are not. If you download a copyrighted work of any kind, it is still illegal whether or not you are sharing copyrighted material. It is the same for any P2P app.
