hey guys i have limewire im very happy with it gbut the downloads go really fast and then they die i think it is becouse of my isp is there any settings i can change to make his problem go away?

 

Define "die". Does the download rate drop or cut out entirely?

I've never used Limewire, so I'm not sure how it works, but I'm used to seeing high download rates when beginning a download, and watching them decline. It is normal. Its called burst rate. Try a download through your browser or another P2P app like kazaa. You'll see the same behaviour there, too.

I think you might wanna check your internet speed, by going to this site. If its lower then it should be then u might have to fix something. Example you might have spyware.

To work this site click on the type of speed test, select your speed test host, and then click run test.

It will compare you to different internet types, like dsl and cable.

There is another test site i know, but i cant remember it. Ill post it when i do tho.

Sometimes there aren't enough sources for the download to complete.
And I wouldn't use Kazaa as it's full of spyware, including the lite version.

 

Kazaa is gone man, but i do agree programs like that do cary spyware and viruses.

Might wanna switch to Bittorrent.

 

I wouldn't promote any P2P, including torrent files, as the majority of the time it's obtaining files illegally.

If you're worried your ISP is throttling P2P ports, then just simply use another port.

i only use p2p for stuff that i cant buy like music videos old tv programs ect......

 

I have a copy of the Lite version which I obtained in March, 2005, and its clean according to Symantec, Spybot, and Ad-Aware. Besides, there is a utility in the Majorgeek downloadable programs section expressly for cleaning KaZaA. I wouldn't be using it if I wasn't so poor that I am filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy before the October, 16 2005 deadline. But its good for downloading music videos, since I can't afford cable TV so I can get MTV.
