My internet is limited somehow. I'm still connected to the internet so I can surf the web, but there are certain things I can't do. I am on a LAN connection with another computer, but I can't network with it and do things such as print or send files. Also, whenever I'm downloading a large file, the download will stop all of a sudden and my internet connection will be gone. I have to restart my computer for it to come back. Whenever I try to play a multiplayer game, such as Counterstrike, I get into a game and then I lose my connection several seconds after. When I open my Limewire, it works, but after a while the blue screen of death pops up with a driver error message. I've tried to reinstall my driver, which is Intel pro/1000 ct, but that didn't help. Please help me!!!

It is hard to give you a focused answer since you did not specified what is the nature of your connection and the devices involved.

However, may be this can Help, Optimizing & Measuring the "Speed" of Internet Connection.

    As for File Sharing.

Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings, http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html

As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what is allowed to be shared.

I am connected by cable internet through a router. I was able to network to my other computer before. I guess I should've said this in the first post, but here is what happened: I downloaded a virus thinking it was some program I wanted, I don't remember which. I finally got it off after a while, but my computer was acting very strange, more than just the internet. So I sent it to my uncle who looked at it, said my motherboard was messed up and replaced it. I got the computer back and found it still with the internet like this. I've tried to repair it with Winsockfix, but whenever I do it, it always seems to stay on the step where it resets the TCP stack using Netsh. I searched the forums and saw that it might be because I only have service pack 1 installed, so I installed service pack 2, but it still was stuck at that step when I tried using Winsockfix. I hope this clears some things up.

I've already used the guide stickied on this forum to get rid of spyware, so I've already used those programs. I'm pretty sure it is a problem with my internet connection and driver not spyware.

Okay, to clarify even further I think the issue is with uploading and sending files. I can't seem to send files bigger than about 8kb, which is very small. I wonder if this clears some things up.

Can someone please help me with this? I've been searching the forums for people with similar problems and none of them have been resolved. I've tried various things to try to fix it such as using winsockfix, manually resetting the TCP/IP stack, LSPfix, going into ipconfig and releasing and renewing the ip address. Please give me some more suggestions!

Is the ethernet controller on the motherboard? If so, go out and pick up an inexpensive PCI ethernet controller, around $15, and install it.
