my friend asked me to have a look at his laptop as it has "limited or no connectivity" It was working fine a couple of days ago until his brother borrowed it. when he started it up it was in the middle of updating (approx 47 updates) so we reckon he brother closed it down during updates.
I've tried connecting through my wireless router (which is working fine) through cable to router and also through his 3 mobile wireless dongle, all attempts to connect result in "limited or no connectivity". can locate my network and even asks for my network security key but get "The connection was unsuccessful". I've tried system restore back to earliest restore point,.I've also ran registry cleaner but nothing. when i go to device manager and network adapters i have 7 yellow!
    Microsoft 6to4 adapter
    Microsoft ISATAP Adapter
    Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #2
    Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #3
    Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #4
    Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface
    WAN Miniport (IKEv2)
I've also tried ipconfig/release & ipconfig/renew but still not working
    tried ipconfig/all
    hostname.....................(name)165
    Primary Dns Suffix..........
    Node type...................hybrid
    IP routing enabled........no
    Wins proxy enabled........no

    Its a Toshiba satellite C660/C660D
running windows 7 with 64-bit operating system
my router is a zyxel NBG-417N

please help what do i do next ?????
would restoring to factory settings help???

    This is worth a try.

Open up a command prompt, probably need to run as admin.
type "netsh winsock reset catalog" without quotes and press enter.

then type "netsh int ip reset reset.log hit" without quotes and press enter.

    Now reboot and cross fingers.

This may not work since you did mention that you have yellow ! by your network adapters in device manager.

got successfully reset the winsock catalog after the first
    got resetting global, ok
resetting interface, ok after the second

rebooted with crossed fingers and "The connection was unsuccessful this computer has limited or no activity"
    Any more suggestions?????

suggest you start with a wired connection. go to device manager and delete all the components with yellow "!" and reboot the system. the os will try to find and load drivers for the hardware it finds. if the drivers can be found, they will be loaded and the yellow "!" will go away. if not, then go to the to toshiba site and download the drivers for that machine model and install them one at a time.

the ipconfig /all needs to show your Ethernet connection. if not you're not going to get very far.

deleted all components with yellow "!" but one wouldn't delete (WAN Miniport(IKEv2) and it still has yellow"!"
tried a wired coinnection but am getting "connection failed with error 711"
ran ipconfig /all again and still getting the same result
how do i get it to show my Ethernet connection????

    Greetings, pearbelle...

Looks as if you might have to point to the specific drivers.

The device driver download page for your model is located here. I suggest that you verify your machine's model number on that page, filter the results and download and install the software pertinent to your problems - most likely the LAN driver and the wireless LAN driver.

Make sure that you reboot after each installation, see if your symptoms change.
