Hello, I'm not very technical so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

My connection on my main computer says "limited or no connectivity". When i try to repair it I get a message that says "the problem occured because the network did not assign a network address to the computer".

I can get online with the main computer but a laptop I have will not connect although my PS3 seems to work just fine. I'm also trying to setup a Linksys mesh network Audio system thingy... and it can't find the network either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

You get "limited or no connectivity" warning but you're able to get online? Are you using both wired and wireless on this PC?
Which operating system are you using? What kind of router do you have? need brand and model number to help you.
    Let's start there.

    Thank you for the response.

The main PC is running Windows XP and is wired directly to the internet. I have a Belkin Pre-N wireless router from there.

Try unplugging the modem for your main PC. Leave off for 30 seconds or so. Plug back in and it should recycle itself and find your IP address.

Ken1506: I am having the very same problem, only inverse. My laptop, PS3, Xbox360, all work fine. Its my desktop that wont connect.

Last night, before I went to bed, everything was working fine.

Everything I would normally do to fix this issue, reset, unplug, re-install, etc, I have done. I even attempted to re-install my NIC card, thinking that would help, but it didnt. :mad

If anyone can shed some light, it would be much appreciated!

OK. so let me get this clear. Your PC has no problem. Your laptop can not get on the network. Correct? Check your router's wireless security settings & DHCP settings. There may be restrictions.

Can you tell me what settings I need to have on DHCP? I don't think I've ever had to mess with those before.
