Limiting printing

I was wondering if there was a way to lock up the printer to only allow a user to print like 10 pages at a time unless they have a password to unlock it. Is there a way to do this or any kind of program that will let me do this? Computers use windows xp pro and the printer is an HP LaserJet 4250tn.

From a quick look - don't think so, there are programs that monitor your print network and some programs limit users or require passwords to print but not to 10 pages then require a password, its either limit the user or require a password.

From experience there are also printers that require a password to use, but not the model you have, you might call HP or your rep and see if they have an add-on that will work if that would suffice.

You can also limit usage times for a printer in the properties if I recall in Pro but I don't think that is what your looking for if this is a business printer.

 

Hm.... I see.... well the printer is a public printer and we want to allow people to print 10 pages for free and then charge them if they go above.... I guess i'll try asking HP.... But i would bet a sh!t ton of money they wont have anything like that..... ugh.... HP.....
