I just downloaded the AVG software from this site but when I got to the setup form which asks for a serial number I ran into difficulties. The page filled the whole screen with no visible minimise button so I had to use control/alt/delete to close it and find the E mail containing the serial number. I thought I would be able to return to the form page via my history but for some reason todays history seems to have been deleted.I therefore need a link to the page which requests the serial number. Any help much appreciated as I don't want to be spreading viruses.

 

I was hoping there was a quicker way than that as it took about an hour to download and I always worry that Freeserve might cut me off mid-download. I am in darkest Scotland and we don't have broadband yet.

 

did you save the download just try re-running the whole set-up

 

I just tried to do the download again but this time Freeserve cut me off when 90% done. I had previously tried to download the same software free at another site but was stopped half way through and asked for $20. I think I will give it up as a bad job and try to get something on CDROM. I don't know how to find the files to delete them. Thanks for your help anyway.

[Edit] Don't know about that particular one (Fresh Download), maybe someone can recommend one they've used???

 

For d/l manager, definately FDA from MG.... works really well, and is good for the resume (also, is a multi point d/l system, so it actually does go faster).

AVG is a superior antivirus.. well worth the time to install... I put it on every computer I work on (except at work, they frown on anyone but IT installing there)
