links to urls contained within emails have stopped working; ie i used to be able to double click on a link from, for example, a mail sent by a dating site informing me that someone had viewd my profile and internet explorer would open up and direct me to that person's profile or message or whatever. this no longer happens. if i move the cursor over the link it becomes a hand type cursor and the url is displayed in the status bar. when i double click the pc makes a noise like it's trying but nothing else happens. i can still copy and paste the link into browser but... any ideas gratefully received

    What OS?

We need information about your system.

    If XP:

Go to start, run, and type:

    regsvr32 urlmon.dll

    Click ok.

    Reboot the computer, if needed.

See if this works for the links in Outlook Express.

    Start Internet Explorer
Select the Tools > Internet Options menu
    Select the [Programs] tab
Look for a checkbox labelled "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser"
If this checkbox is not ticked, then this could be the cause of the problem, so tick it!
    Click OK
    Close Internet Explorer
    Re-open Internet Explorer
    Close Outlook Express
Re-open Outlook Express and try a link
