In the last few days, i've been unable to 'click' on any link in an e-mail (outlook express) and get it to open the relevant web page. Does anyone know what i'm disabled to stop this working?

I've gone through all the options in OE, but can't find anything that seems to deal with this.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Many thanks.

thank you, i've gone throught that which I understand, or at least what i'm confident in doing, but it hasn't fixed the problem.

Sometime you need to follow all of thr instructions to resolve a problem BUT how about checking this to see if your URL Hypertext Transfer Protocol is like this....

If nothing happens when you click a link:

Close all open IE windows >

    Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools > Folder Options > File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
    Select 'open'.
    Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

    "C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

    DDE Message:
    "%1",,-1,0,,,,

    Application:
    IExplore

    DDE application not running:
    (blank)

    Topic:
    WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same as the above.

Thank you. under the file options I only had URL internet shortcut, and when looking further into that - It didn't have what you suggested, that had (oops, can't remember now, but something like rundll32).... anyway, I changed it to open with Internet Explorer and I think it's working now.

Thank you very much for taking the time to explain....

ps -don't think i'll ever be a pc geek ;-)

    try this...

in IE goto tools > Internet options > Advanced and look for "Reuse Window for launching shortcuts" and untick it if ticked > apply

I tend to reuse windows these days saves having many open and you can also right click the link and pick open in new window from the menu.
