Links not working in Internet Explorer6

Hope some of you geeks can help me here.
When I click on a link on a webpage say to sign in to my yahoo accont, nothing happens, it just stays on the same page. No error messages are displayed and it its not pop up blockers. Thsi only happens on the additional user profiles I have set up for the kids. I am using Media Centre an IE 6
Any help will be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance

 

Try the steps below>

1. Quit all programs that are running.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.

If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each of the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the file names below):

• Shdocvw.dll
• Actxprxy.dll
• Oleaut32.dll
• Mshtml.dll
• Browseui.dll
• Shell32.dll

Windows XP and Windows 2000 only
Restart the computer to enable the changes to take effect.

I have done as you say but it still does not work. I can't access any of the secure sites ie Yahoo hotmail etc.
Any more ideas would be greatfully accepted.

 

Turn off your firewall and try again.

 

Have turned off Norton and still does not work. This is getting very frustrating
