I just had to put in a new linksys router and now i can not get my RDC to work :confused

    yes i forward the posts
    yes all sys have network/internet
I all so can use the local ip for the RDC but thats not a big help if im not there :cry
I scanned the the ip and it has no ports open :confused

so i have come to the conclusion that i can do any remote desktop work over a linksys router.........

any one else run in to this or is it just me??

after lots of reading and and some testing i found that you have to disable the dhcp on this model, to use the port forwarding rolleyes its a linksys Model# befsx41. this might be true w/ other models. hope this can helps some one;)

You could give the machine you want to RDP to a static IP address and leave DHCP on for the other machines......just a thought.

I have that same model as Hacker. Would it work to only assign an static to one machine (i.p. range permitting) or would DHCP need to be disabled throughout and manual i.p.'s assigned for each machine?

the DCHP is "on" or "off" so if its "off" you do have to set up each ip on each sys. I have a server set up w/ DCHP so its not a big thing for me. but it can be a pain :cry

Nope. You could assign a static address, within the rage of your subnet and the other machine could use DHCP...no problem.
