This time my son's PC. We have had this networked with the piece of kit before, but now it does not want to. Changes since it worked have been that he had to replace his power supply.

He has a Linksys Wireless-G USB Network adaptor fitted to access our wireless Qwest Actiontec DSL modem system. Software is installed and hardware connected. The message comes up in the connection software "You are connection to the access point, but the Internet cannot be found".

Suggestions please guys? Thanks in advance :)

Thanks LBMEST...I've actually solved this one!

I checked the firewall wasn't blocking the software or the browser...that was fine. However, it stilled appeared to me to be a firewall issue. So I removed the firewall, then uninstalled and reinstalled the Linksys software and hardware. Works fine. Fussy huh?

Now reinstalling Zonealarm and it is all working fine. I'm posting from my son's PC :)

    Temporarily it seems :(

This has been working fine for weeks, then suddenly it refuses once again to connect to the internet as before.

My son disabled the ZA firewall and restored the Windows one and it works, but so very very slowly, more like dialup.

    Any new suggestions please guys?

    Hey Lev,
Any new items that might cause interference or has location changed?
    Might try changing wireless channels.
Possible firmware update needed on the adapter or access point?
Zone Labs had an update recently. Possible problem from that?
    (I'm throwing out suggestions.)

    Thanks LB.

    To update:

No changes to his system at all. In fact he wasn't even here for 2 weeks....came back and it was sucky.

He disabled Zonealarm and returned to the Windows firewall  so won;t be ZA.

Will look into the other 2..thanks for the suggestions :)

I have this same problem every time I power up my laptop except mine won't connect to the access point without some help then....connects to access point but not internet. This is what I have to do:

Go to My Network Places and right click on the network connection and tell it to repair it. I have dialog boxes that come up and tell me that it is repairing via getting another IP address. After it does this, I am then connected to the access point. Now, I have to bring up the Wireless G dialog box and click on the tab that shows available networks...click on my network and enter the security code....then I can access the internet.
