Linksys port forwarding need help

i was trying to change the ip address for one of my ports and it asked for a password its never done that before and ive tried every password i could think of please help

 

The default password is 'admin' - no capittal letters or quote marks

If that does not work, reset the router to it's factory default settings. Stick a paperclip or similiar item into the hole in the back labeled 'reset' for 30 seconds.

 

well i advise not to do that because then my computer needs to be reconfigured again and i find that a nuisance. but yeah admin probably worked anyways i think the pw was admin too

Have you held the reset switch for at least the full 30 seconds?

 

yes i did

 

go to the ip address of the router, use a computer directly connected to it and sign out of the isp. then restart it. then it should reset

 

That's odd. It should have reset to the default settings. Contact Linksys and ask if there is some special procedure to follow with your particular model.

I know I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel now but did you try leaving the password field blank yet?
