linksys wireless card

HI

I have an old laptop running windows 2000 I also have an old linksys wireless card Model# wpc54g ver3 Linksys Wireless 2.4 ghz 802.11g

I do not have the cd that came with the card but I did download the driver and utility off of linksys website. I install the software but it does not work i go into networks and I do not see a wireless network just the lan. does anyone no were I can get my hands on the full cd or something else that would help? thanks

 

Linksys should have the Connection Manager Utility at their website; the name may be different tho'.... if the wireless network isn't secured (meaning no WEP/WPA password) you should be able to connect thru IE. Just be sure that IE is configured for LAN internet access and you shuold be OK. I'll do some poking around and I'll see if I can find the software if you need it and can't locate it.....

I believe I found it: http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/1625/ Download the file to your desktop (or another handy location), and unzip it. You should see 2 folders, and some files (about 8 or 10 or so). Open the 'Utility' folder and run 'Setup.exe' and follow the on screen prompts. That should do it! Let us know if this works for you (fingers crossed). If not, again, let us know, and we'll see what we can do. GOOD LUCK!
