linksys wrt54GS

    i have a wrt54GS.. is there a way to see who's using my network?

    looked in the control panel but couldnt find anything

    Try the Status Tab > Local Network > The Status Tab - Local Network > DHCP Clients Table.

    Clicking this button will open a screen to show you which PCs are utilizing the Router as a DHCP server. You can delete PCs from that list, and sever their connections, by checking a Delete box and clicking the Delete button.

    that did it- but they can reconnect if i disconnect them? unless its a secured network (which i dont know how to do- hint hint)

    you laugh i didnt know it but i was providing net access to half the block :0

    i know when i was living in NY and didnt have net access i was po'ed with all my neighbors who had secured networks, gggrr!

    can people really get yur files etc?

    I was laughing against them to get those parasites off your connection, not at you.;)

    I'm no expert on cracking but I'm sure once they get in it's like a candy store, especially if you don't have important stuff passworded.

    so i changed the password and put in a list of mac addresses who i allow to use the network but half the neighborhood are still using it- even after i delete them.

    Do you have WPA Encryption setup? That should keep out all but the most determined.

    You could also hide the SSID from being broadcast.

    Checkout that video again and read the relevant sections of your manual.
