linux 64 bit

    ok first is it free?
    does any1 have a link of the download site?
    ive used windows all my life...isnt there a way to make it basically the same?
    whats the difference between lin n win?

    linux is an open source operating system with many distributions available.

    With Windows, only Microsoft gets to develop and distribute the operating system, but with Linux, the source code is public, and MANY companies have modified their own distribution.

    Yes it is free, unless you want support for it, where certain companies will charge a minimal fee (in comparison with windows).

    I currently fool around with Fedora Core 3 x86_64 , but there are many others to choose from. if you do a few searches on this board you can find out quite a bit of info... and otehr than that... google is your friend ;)
