Linux and Wifi

Hey all, I'm new to Linux. I just got Knoppix today, and while it detected my onboard ethernet (as eth0), it won't detect my wifi card. I tried typing wlcardconfig in the console, but it says No Wireless Network Card Detected.

I have an Acer TM291Lmi laptop. It's a Centrino with integrated 802.11b/g. Can anyone tell me what I need to do?

My wireless network is a Netgear access point, 128 bit WEP and MAC filtering enabled.

EDIT: I just checked, it's an Intel 2200BG WiFi

 

I was just wondering...
I looked up a search on the Intel site, and they had this:

Is your card the same as the "Pro"?

 

just to let you know. if hardware dosent work with knoppix, its gonna take a hell of a lot of work to get it to work. and thats even if its possible to get it to work. knoppix has the best hardware support ive found.

Its so late at night now, I can't think too well...
but, looks like this guy put a version of knoppix on an Acer that is close to yours, and makes reference to the same wireless card.

Good luck to you with the knoppix. Are you going to install to the hdd?
