Linux Computer Stopped

    i put ubuntu on the laptop and it worked about 30 times or more and now it has a black screen with words like press esc

    it does nothing

    the only i can think of is it needs a cmos battery

    it said system boot order not found..i got into cmos or bios and loaded defaults and now it seems to boot up and now it did for now anyway

    too complicated and i cant get my stuff of this damn computer now

    I TRY TO REINSTALL LINUX AND IT SEEMED THE ONLY OPTION WAS TO create a duel boot with same OS but i cant copied the files i can copy but i cant paste them onto and external drive
