I am a n00b to linux. Well, I have redhat running (because someone installed it for me!)

I now want to try installing things myself. If all goes well, I want to eventually run it as a web server. Which linux distribution should I try?

    Thank you.

Debian is 14 CDs and Fedora is 4 CDs. Debian requires that you know what you what to install, unless you want 8 gigs of stuff you won't use. Fedora asks what type of system you want ot install. If I may give SimplyMEPIS a try, it is 1 CD can be ran as an 'Live CD' or can be installed to your hard drive.

Debian has an excellent package management system, apt-get. IMO, its worth the pain of getting it installed.

Debian also offers the greatest compatability; since the modules are unmodified, as compared to other distributions.
