I want to know which OS is this best to use. I need someone to give me the pros and cons of the use of both sysrtems. I'll appreciate all advice you can give me. I am using Xp Pro now on this system. I am planing to sell this computer (Pen 3)and buy another computer (AMD 64). Thanks for all your replys. ODIE :) :)

I`ve tried a few versions of linux out, mainly live-cd versions (As a bit of fun more than anything else)

First time ive heard of Linux XP, so did some reading and found this,

    http://www.tuxfiles.org/linuxhelp/linux-xp.html

Have you used linux much before?

It depends to me, the biggest question is do you plan to play lots of games. Linux and games aren't quite up to speed as far as easily installing and playing games. That said I have both setup (duel boot) on my gaming system and only boot into windows when wanting to play games.

Flushed: Thanks for your reply. No, I have never used Linux before. Also read your url on Linux XP. The feed says you have to update yearly at the tune of $1000. Thats a bit extreme. Thanks for your herlp. ODIE :)

Colemanguy: Thanks for your reply. No, I am not a Gamer. I just want to know how easy is Linun is to use. I have read some feeds that say it is not a simple OS asd is Windows XP. I had Wins ME which was a headache until I got Wins XP Pro in its place. Thanks again. ODIE :)

Linux is not as simple as Windows XP, that is correct.

Now if you are just looking for a more powerful OS, but is easier to use than Linux...try Mac OS X!

I second the mac os, but unless you want to replace your computers that not always an option. I use a linux distro called suse made by novell, and it is very easy and beginner friendly.

I would definently stay with windows for now if thats what you know best.

If you want to play with linux to see what it can do. Google search free Linux Live CD's and you can have a play.

I started off with SLAX which fits on one CD. You run the entire operating system from the CD and then take it out reboot and your back to windows.

Yes i am absoluty sure, mac os only runs on ppc not intel or amd, apple is devveloping a intel based version but your supposed to purchase an apple machine. So it won't work with any non apple built sytem.
