we had an update installed yesterday, however we need to know who installed it and at what time I have run get-hotfix in powershell ,however it doesn't show all of the updates.

    thanks in advance

Is this the system in your signature - windows XP Pro SP2?
If so, that's a system that should have SP3 and is badly insecure anyway. And how you manage on 512mb of RAM is a mystery.
If it isn't that system, then you need to give very clear specific details about the system - brand name and full model number and what OS and SP is installed on it.
In every system the time and date of install of WUs is shown in Update History.

    Try this:

Bring up an elevated Admin CMD prompt -
    START | type cmd.exe into the start search box | right-click on cmd.exe | select 'Run as Administrator' | type/ paste: wmic qfe list full /format:htable > "%userprofile%\documents\0.html" & start "%programfiles%\internet explorer\iexplore" "%userprofile%\documents\0.html" explore

If he's running 64-bit XP, it only went to SP2. 32-bit had SP3.

No discernible dates in there, did you try the other WMIC method?

I don't think I know of a method to list them all with dates, I just use a vbs that lists them all ready for searching, as I usually know which one I'm looking for.

    Does this work for you?
