I know ME has System Restore Remover Pro, but does XP have a similar program? I'm using GoBack, so I don't have a need in the XP System Restore anymore, and some instances of the old XP proggy is left intacked. Also, I would like to physically remove the Windows Movie Maker and Netmeeting to save HD space, if possible ;)

From what i know of the system, XP has a better architechure - thus allowing you to properly disable "system restore". Its not important to remove the actual responsible files, like in ME; i'm not sure its possible: i think its more integrated into the Kernel.

Anyway - to disable it: go to Start, Control Panel, System, System-Restore. Its pretty self explanatary from there.

HI, I use both. Goback can lose its data in certain situations usually with heavy drive use such as defrag.

I keep restore just in case as I have met the situation before. To use restore I disable Goback while it executes. Peace Mal

PS I have plenty of disc space anyway.

In XP home, I use System Restore, quite a bit.... I create a restore point before any driver update...

What I do then do is delete all old restore points..

Go to My COmputer, Right Click on your "C" Drive, Click Disk Cleanup, then Clcik on the More Options tab, then clean up Under system restore

I also use Norton Ghost for full backups..
I look into your other questions
