Little Rant

I joined a forum after realizing that I wanted to get into training of malware/spyware and etc.. I then did some work and obviously its a lot of reading and etc. I ended up losing enternet(I send PM to few people on that site) that were staff/admin/teachers noting it and said no worries. I then come back after a month later post ones. They PM me taking me off training and mentioning due to inactive Iam gone. I PM them back told them what happen and told them I PM them long ago.. about it and nothing. So kinda feel like that site/forum/people on there are just rude and etc.. Its always felt rude by some there but I kept quite. But now after some good time I now can not no longer post/do anything there to help others.. :cry Rant over:major

 

Hey silas, sorry to here that you're upset about it. Not sure where you joined up, and what their rule on student activity/inactivity are. While you sent a PM, did you specifically ask for a months time?

Probably miss communication. These schools are like going back to kindergarten, only difference here is the teachers are firm, expect a response/fix in an already designated and agreed to time frame. Teachers here push you to research, not spoon feed. A month of inactivity is a bit much!

I recall joining up last January on G2G. Was a wrong time for me, what with the fiscal closing, audits and what not. I politely sent mail/PM to remove me from the class, with an explanation. This way the teachers, did not have to waste their time for my response and continue concentrating with the other active students.

silas, remember they are all volunteers. Giving their time to educate, while also being admins and mods on various malware removal forums. Did I mention they have a family life? Pretty much like the hero's and a heroine on MG's malware team.

I joined WTT in December 2010. Just made Senior. It's bloody tough work! There are days while sitting at work, :-D I've spent six hours reviewing a practice log and proposing a fix.
My first exercise in senior looked like the simplest of HJT. Five posts down, only to figure its a rootkit!! :eek

Yeah I know they got familys and are giving there time for all of us. But just bad when I PM the people I needed to and told them I was going away for little bit. They sent back saying okay that is fine. I said blah blah thank you. I come back post twice in forum. I get PM stating they felt like I was trying and inactive for a month. But I sent back stating the PM I sent a month ago and told them I know its totally up to them and Id wish to stay, but they said no they will not respond to my PM. So game over:cry for now..
