Little Tiny Square Boxes with Double Digit Stacked Numbers inside

I occassionally see 'Little Tiny Square Boxes with Double Digit Nubers Stacked one above the other inside the box' in portions of script I am reading:confused Is this a virus on a website, or in my computer:confused Somehow I think it's a version of a Chinese virus but am not sure. I say this because I had 1 Yahoo email communication from a Chinese company before I saw this manifest itself.rolleyes What is it? And how do I get rid of it?

 

It could be font or language characters your particular OS lacks. I've noticed the same phenomenon on my XP laptop, but while using my Vista desktop it would display as a heart, infinity symbol or other nonletter character. It's never been a problem for me so I've never bothered with a 'fix'.

Thank you for your reply. I was concerned it was a form of virus as I have seen it displayed amongst text on various pages I was reading online. One less thing to worry about I guess, though it bugs me in the back of my mind as it does'nt look as if it belongs in the text.
