I have a live.ca e-mail address and all of the names in my contacts list have been missing for a week. I use the hotmail/outlook website to log into my account.

I was chatting online with a Microsoft rep who says it's a server issue and offered a "work around". The work around just consisted of changing the sort order of my contacts from "First Name" to "Recently Added". She said my contacts are still on their server, but just not appearing for me. My contacts list still didn't appear after changing the sort order and she didn't understand why, as it "worked for everyone else". She asked if she could remotely connect to my computer to "see what I was seeing". I declined, I wasn't sure if it was safe to do so.

I used this link to chat with Microsoft
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...5&TID=100110403&STID=100110404&wa=wsignin1.0#

My question is... is it safe to allow a Microsoft rep to remotely access my computer to help find a solution?
    Thank you

There are people, including myself, who'd advise against letting ANYONE remotely access your computer. Even though the site is MS, you don't know the person on the other end.
