Live Update Getting Hung Up

Please help! My Norton Antivirus Live Update starts and then gets caught up halfway through. I've even left it for an hour at a time....
Then, I try to shut it down by hitting cancel and it gets hung up there too. It was giving me an error when I rebooted and then tried to run Live Update, saying that it was already running, so I went to the Symantec website to find out what to do and i was able to end the process by closing down LUCOMS~1.EXE. Of course, when I restart NAV and then I try to run Live Update again and it gets stuck.... HELPPPPPPPPPP, please ! thank you !!
I am using NAV 2006 for Windows 2000/XP

 

LiveUpdate stalling is a known issue that predates NAV/NIS 2k3. There is a premenition that there are certain Windows Updates that cause it.
