Loading after install gets- EOlesyserror

    HP laptop, Pavillion 9500
    Completed a clean install of Win7. I'm stymied on the install of a critical application. An older version, but it runs fine on XP & Vista. After an apparently successful install, loading the program results in "EOlesyserror in module Vd50.bpl at 0001A321".

    Googling comes up with nothing I recognize as useful. This should run. Ideas would be welcome. Thanks.
