Loading new AV software and Firewall

My Trend Micro subscription is expiring. I've decided to try Avira Antivir Personal Free adddition and add a Firewall (Comodo recommended by MG.Com). My question is the procedure for uninstall/install. Here is my plan:

1. Download programs
2. Seperate from Internet
3. Kill TrendMicro (but not uninstall)
4. Load Antivir Personal
5. Load Comodo Firewall
6. Verify install and operations
7 Uninstall Trendmicro Antivirus.

How does this sound? Any other suggestions would be greatly accepted and appreciated.

I might add disabling Windows Firewall in there, if it is running on your machine. It's NO FUN juggling it with another SWFW, IMO.

 

Comodo automatically disables and replaces Windows firewall after a reboot to complete installation.

Haha make sure you update them right away! I didn't do that after putting some AV on my bros comp and he was majorly infected with in days. Oops my bad

 

I'd also install cCleaner and one of the autorun management programs from here, like startup standaalone. Then I also set my homepage to here, MG, for saftey's sake on that first reconnect. :wave:wave:wave
