Local area connection on linux...how do i get rid of it?

    in my internet connections window there is this local area network on linux connection, i didnt install anything, i didnt make new connections.. is this a trojan? i go to click settings in the window of the connection and it says that the connection is currently busy with a connect/dissconnect operation, its taking up my bandwidth and i have high ping

    some one please help

    Turn off Universal Plug and Play on your router or modem.

    Its perfectly fine to leave it though. Its not taking any of your bandwidth.
