Locked Backspace

Hello!
I have a problem that's starting to irritate me a great deal.

See, i recently bought this Packard Bell-laptop, a thousand dollar-piece that shouldn't be having any problems right away. But after about 10 minutes of use, right after the windows installation, the backspace-button was sort of locked. not in the physical way that it was actually pressed down, but in the way that the computer somehow sensed that somebody was pushing the backspace-button down and kept it there. i couldn't write anything because it would be removed after a milli-second. i couldn't go into any internet pages because it would just go back immediately. and this annoying blip-sound that you get when you press backspace or delete if the messenger-bar is already empty on msn messenger. annoying!

i ended up turning the computer back to the store, got a new one and everything worked just fine. until a couple of weeks later when this thing occured again. this time i just ignored it, since i'd been downloading tons of programs, movies, you know.. you don't want to go through it all again. everything is fine after rebooting the computer, but it happens every great once in a while and it is SO annoying. imaging having all these important documents opened and then all of a sudden everything will be automatically removed and the internet site you're on will turn into the starting page. it sucks so much i can't even explain it to you, and the only thing you can do is rebooting!

anyone know anything about this? is it a vista problem, or a packard bell-thing, perhaps related to the very version of my computer?
