Right off the bat I admit this is MY fault. I did a really dumb thing! :-o I have a all in one HP desktop that run windows 7. I have always been a die hard IE user until yesterday when read about the "hack" of IE. So today useing Google Chrome which I've also used as often as IE, for my banking, I went in to clear any saved cache, cookies etc for the past 1 hour. and that's where I screwed up BIG time!
I clicked ALL from beginning of time!!:smileyembarrassed: I admit I have never (another bad) used this before and wasn't really sure how much to remove.
Doing this then made it so my wireless mouse and keyboard were USELESS! (go into the process and you'll see why by clicking what I did removed their use). So after realizing what I did, I thought ok just hook up your wired nouse & keyboard - nope! To make matters worse, I rebooted and of COURSE I have a password to get in to my PC, which I can't type in as my keyboard or any keyboard is no longer recoginized. I know WHAT needs changed, but how do I get into my PC without a mouse or a keyboard?

PS: Obviciously it isn't the PC I am typing this message on - thankfully I have 2 computers ;)

Usually removing temp files will not kill your computer. Ok, so plugging in a spare / wired KB didn't fix it? Sometimes it just may take Windows a few 'seconds' to recognize a new device.
Does the keyboard work in BIOS - when the PC comes on can you hit whatever keys the PC is telling you to 'enter bios'? del, f11, f8, whatever? Maybe if the KB works in BIOS, it will work so you can boot into recovery and restore your system.
Can you use RDP and remote from the second computer to the first (broken) one? or remotley install VNC onto the broken one to get in, if RDP is not enabled.

No to all :( Tried going in through other PC - no go. The keyboard & mouse responds in NO way what so ever. as if neither are hooked up. As for the BIOS etc. Sorry clueless here. I am just a regular PC user. I use the PC to surf the internet, very limited knowledge past that.

I "assumed" since I chose to remove all "memory" of apps, software etc when I was "cleaning up" and then this issue happened immediately that is the cause.

PS: as for waiting a few minutes, I waited for hours before posting for help. Now it's been a full day - still "dead" keyboard and mouse - wired and wireless :( IF I could get my into the PC I could take it from there but I can't type in my password to open it or use a F11 or anything

What is the model of computer? Did you try the del, f11, f1,f2 during boot?

I can't! I can not try F11 or anything! The keyboard is NOT responding to the computer. I have tried 2 different key boards & 2 different mouses. . I tried it but the PC doesn't get the commands from keyboard. That is why I am posting.

It is a HP all in one windows 7 model

Did you try accessing it via safe mode?

And how does she get to safe mode with no keyboard recognized?

We need more than just HP all in one. Look at the tag on the back and get a model number. Why? So I can find directions to take it apart so you can remove the CMOS battery. That will take the computer back to default values and perhaps a keyboard will work.
Or you can take somewhere, pay $$$ to have then take it apart, remove the battery and get the keyboard working.

Ok, calm down, there are instances where the KB will work at boot (during BIOS) and not in Windows, that is all I wanted to determine.
The PC might flash a key to enter "setup" or "boot menu" very quickly before Windows loads, so you could still try those keys.. they might not seem to work because we are trying the wrong ones..
I should of said when I asked what kinda of computer is it? and don't say a white one.
    Specifics are great.

Does the cap lock light? does anything light up on the keyboard? does the mouse light up???

Removing the CMOS battery is not a good idea unless you have the settings from your BIOS written down somewhere. Another poster here can tell you she pulled the battery and her system will not boot [link here]
I've even had IBM support tell me to do that and the system would not boot - just bluescreen everytime, because the HD controllers were not set right.
