Hey everyone, im new to the geek community and already have a question.
I have a laptop that i am renting to own (big mistake) im late one day on a payment and im locked out of it. Im not sure the program that they are using as it does not have a title, all i get is a red screen with a security guard on it saying need password to continue. Now i have agreed to give the laptop back but i want all my family pictures and documents off of it first, they are telling me that they will not give me the passcode, nor will they backup any information on the computer for me as i have already agreed to just give it back to them... Please help as some of the pictures are slideshows i have on the laptop are for a presentation that i am playing at a wake ceremonie for my late great grandfather!!

The only way I know of that would "Possibly" bypass this is to boot from a Linux Live CD like Puppy. Download Puppy, then burn the iso with Imgburn. Boot the CD and see if you can access the hard drive. If the software they are using locks the hard drive, there is no way you can get the photos off.

I am assuming you are using Windows 7.
