   My ex-husband locked himself out of his HP. He set the security so that you have to enter a user name and password, but didnt write down what they were. How do you get around the setting and gain access to Windows to turn the setting off or reset the user name and password?

   Are you sure it is to get into windows and not a BIOS password. Those are two different things.
   Have him come on and post exactly what he did so we know what was passworded.
