    Hi Guys,

I purchased a Packard Bell refurbed computer about 3 yeras ago and all was fine until about 3 weeks ago when I got a virus (despite having Avast installed). Although the computer had Softex Omnipass installed it used to flash up during the Windows Xp boot process, then vanish and load windows. However since the virus episode Omnipass is now requesting a username and password, neither of which I have ever used or set. I can log into the C:\ under DOS but am unable to get Windows going. I have tried the usual 'Administrator' user name, and leaving the password blank but this doesn't work.
I'm running XP SP3 and really don't want to have to re-install Windows as I have some photos on the disk that I'd like to recover.
Any assitance would be greatly received before I go mad.

You have tried F8 > Last known good config?

Is that on the initial boot sequence, because the Onmipass screen appears just after the Windows 'Welcome' screen appears?

Start tapping F8 as the PC boots, before Windows starts.

Hi DomLuc, thanks for trying to help
'Last Good Config' still brings up the log-in screen for onmipass

In safe mode 2 accounts come up without the log-in screen
1 - Administrator. When trying to log in to this account it just tries to log-in, then logs out immediately saving settings.
2 - Packard Bell (default account when purchased) - brings up the omnipass log-in screen.

Thanks, unfortunately it came without the install disks. I have an unused new 2nd hard drive I can install once I get a copy of XP so can do a fresh install and try to retrieve from the original disk using it as a slave.
