locked out

I have just acquired a H P Pavilion Slimline, 64b running Windows Vista Premium...I neglected to get the password, from the ppl, cuz I am Stupid I guess, but I need to know how I can create a password reset disk, or what exactly DO I HAVE TO DO ?

If you forgot the password the best you can do (i think) is get a copy of Hiren's Boot CD and change the admin password.

I have had some success using Linux Mint.

Also would advise not to include your eMail address in any post. Not good for security of your machine or your personal sanity if some of the wrong types of people see it.
Not referring to the people here, but lots of people browse here that are not registered.

 

Thank You for the advise about Linux Mint and the e mail addy... I found out from here that F~5 , before the windows opened, will take ya to the DOS, and Cmos, and that then one is able to recreate a new admin and user P W ... now to figure out how to edit the post...THANKS AGAIN ! ! !

 

as of 09/01/10 problem solved...THANK YOU EVERY ONE FOR TAKING TIME TO REPLY ... THE CREATE REBOOT DISKS IS A MUST... and will do just that...THANK YOU ALL ! ! !
