locking faves bar

    CatT I can't follow the rules

    w7 has this great favorites bar (was that avail in XP or 98? never noticed it before), but a couple of apps keep ADDING things to it.

    i have "lock the toolbars" checked, but it doesn't seem to prevent this.

    i need the apps, and there's some chance they won't WORK if i pre-empt them from modifying this bar...but i'd at least like to TRY.

    plus it bug me -- if an app i WANT can modify this so willy-nilly, what about some app i DON'T want?
