Locking In Chrome's Download Destination

Even though the SETTING is for Chrome to download to a partition (which had set as in Explorer as the target for downloads), it instead puts downloads on the Desktop. How can the misbehaviour be stopped ?

Thank you. My problem is not finding a method to change download location but to FORCE Chrome to 'obey that rule'.

Having trouble understanding the question, I guess we're even

Copy & paste that into a new tab for download settings. The best I can read is you want to change the default download location. If not, you'll need to explain it better.

I have already changed the download location for Chrome; what I need is for Chrome to obey that setting (and NOT ignore it).

You might have to reinstall Chrome. Take your time and peruse this article.

Turns out all that was needed was to RESET Chrome.
